Paradise Island is a family-friendly hotel in the resort of Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. It's a short walk from the hotel to the town's beach. Two breakwaters protect the shore here, meaning the small bay, with its crescent of sand, is almost free of waves. Looking inland you can see the mountains of the nearby national park. The hotel is built in a modern style that reflects local Spanish architecture.

At the centre of Paradise Island, there are two outdoor pools, whilst children can enjoy two separate shallower options, as well as a mini water park with a variety of slides. Other activities to keep the younger guests entertained include a playground, as well as a disco and clubs for kids, juniors and teens. When you feel the need for a spot of relaxation, you can visit the spa and unwind with a massage or beauty treatment. In the evening, the whole family can watch a show or be entertained by live singers. If you fancy dancing, there's a disco bar that stays open until late. You can stay active with an aerobics class, archery, darts, football, tennis, or with a workout at the gym.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at Paradise Island's buffet restaurant, prepared with local produce. Two additional eateries offer Italian and Asian cuisine. You'll also find kids' options and regular themed nights. Snacks and drinks are available poolside throughout the day, or you can relax with a drink in the lobby bar until late in the evening.

The one-bedroom apartments are ideal for couples and families looking for rest and intimacy. They are 43m2 housing a living room with two sofa beds, a separate bedroom, fridge, microwave, kettle, TV, telephone, safe, WiFi and either a terrace or balcony.

From Paradise Island, it's 1.5km to Flamingo Beach and 2km to the centre of Playa Blanca, one of Lanzarote's most popular resorts. It runs around a headland and along the coast, which is lined with sandy beaches. In town, there's also a harbour and a bustling promenade, with lively bars and seafood restaurants. The neighbouring town of Castillo del Aguila is 5km from the hotel. Here you can hire a boat from the marina to explore the island's coastline. Playa Blanca's water park is 1km from the hotel. If you'd like to see some local scenery and Lanzarote's famous dormant volcanoes, Timanfaya National Park is 20km away.

Acceptable but could be lovely

Accommodation is great as all individual apartments but interiors tired and need a freshen up. All inclusive food was great but the alcohol was terrible and no option to upgrade to better stuff. The beer was good but the vodka and cocktails are really bad taste like nail varnish remover. Staff on reception very helpful but the bar staff was poor only one person on at night and the entertainment was shocking. No local pubs except a 5/7 minute taxi away. Lovely pool and waterpark is good but no pool for teenagers just shoots at the park. Main pool is good but not enough sunbeds for all the people. All in all a good solid 2.5 out of 5. It is worth a trip if the price is right. At £300 per head can’t really complain.

Arrival Quick and efficient check in..was advised that they had no pool towels but we had taken our own. Found apartment with ease Apartment We stayed next to the water park .. lovely spacious and clean apartment beds comfortable (I liked the hard mattress) but a bit cold at night..not enough blankets but you can expect it to be colder in winter months. Woke on the first night with a maintenance man who had let himself into the apartment (albeit it wasn't too late about 9pm) but we had had an early start. He couldn't advise why he was there as he didn't speak English and our Spanish wasn't good either. Worked out he was there to fix thr air conditioning (we hadn't reported anything) and I would have thought this was something that could have been done in the morning. All he done was point the remote at it and it came on (as I said I am not sire he had the right room as we hadn't reported an issue) after that I was uncomfortable allowing my son to sleep in the living area so he ended up in with us for the full week. We reported to reception in the morning. Apartment was cleaned regularly with fresh towels given.. and the maids were always friendly. Cannot fault this. Restaurant Typical all Inclusive plenty choice but mostly lukewarm but tasty. I am vegetarian and could always find a choice. Was a bit busy at times but the staff there work so hard and are polite and friendly and always cleaning so was very covid friendly. Facilities Lovely grounds and plenty pools... they were very cold but its what you can expect at this time of year (smaller pool was apparently heated) my son played for hours and never complained. Water Park was a lot of fun for kids and adults... and plenty space for loungers and has a little self service bar serving soft drinks. Always life guards visible. Drinks The drinks honestly weren't very good unfortunately but thankfully we weren't really bothered about drinking. The beer was good and cold but the wine was terrible. The staff at the bar were very hardworking and polite. Entertainment This was by far the worst part of the holiday unfortunately. If you weren't there by about 8pm you did not get a seat. The way it is set up is bad as it has seats at the bar area bit you can't see the main stage and not a lot of seats available at the stage area . It was also really cold.at night so perhaps at this time of year they could bring the Entertainment inside . We didn't bother to stay after the kids disco so can't really comment on the quality of the shows but given what we heard from.our room, it didn't sound great. I also found that the entertainers during the day on approached certain people around the pools to join in. We were only approached once at the end of our week. I don't mean to criticise the entertainers as they work so so hard and very long hours but possibly could be a bit more Inclusive of getting guests to join in. Playa blanca There is a beach about a 20 minute walk with lovely bars and restaurants. There is a bigger beach a short taxi journey away and has a marina with a market on a weds and Saturday and lovely bars and restaurants. Its a gorgeous part of lanzarote. A bit quieter than there but perfect for families/couples/solo travels looking for a quiet break. The hotel.is definitely worth a visit.. definitely not 4 stars in my eyes but they don't charge 4 star prices either and so I think you definitely get value for money. We would possibly return due to the waterpark. Thank-you for a lovely stay.

Short holiday

We stayed in this hotel for 5 days in February as a family of 4. At arrivel we waited 20 minutes at reception to get checked in- sadly 20 minutes were the average wait if we wanted to talk to receptionist. They seemed to be always under staffed. We went all inclusive, wouldn't do it again. Drinks werent nice at all, ended up buying drinks in the supermarket. Food was okay, however the wait was always too long and seem to be the same food all the time-ended up eating out. One of the day we tried the bar food, my son had the chicken, when he bit into it, it was row, very bloody. Luckly, ha was okay after. The village and the beach is about 30/35 minutes walk. Lovely reataurants, bars and shops. The pools were far too cold, we couldnt seem to find any heated one. After 9.30 ish we werent able to get a sunbed around the pool. The room was fine, however our children find sleeping on the sofa beds very small and uncomfortable. We asked for extra blankets as it was very cold at night, they were deliverd quickly.
