Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife
1661 reviews
Bahia Principe Fantasia is a fairytale-inspired resort located on the southern coast of Tenerife, around 14km from Los Cristianos and close to Tenerife South Airport. The brightly painted buildings are set in tree-lined gardens, just 500m from the beach. Golfers will be pleased to know that the nearest course is just 1.5km away.
This family-friendly hotel caters for guests of all ages. For the young children there's fancy dress workshops, games and expeditions, while for the more creative little ones there's crafts and cooking. The Teens' Club, exclusively for teenagers, is ideal for those who would prefer not to remain with their little siblings or parents the whole time. The kids also have their own swimming pools to splash around in, while the infinity pool is exclusively for adults. Choose from five standard pools, including one which is heated in the winter. While you have some peace and quiet maybe indulge in a massage or beauty treatment, sunbathe in the solarium or hit the gym.
In the evening enjoy an exclusive production in the resort's theatre. For guests just wanting to satisfy their appetite the a la carte restaurants will leave them spoiled for choice. The Ladon is named after a fiery dragon, here you can tuck into a succulent steak, fresh from the flames. The hotel's wood fired stove is located in the Italian themed Il Paradiso, meaning hungry mouths won't have long to wait for freshly prepared pizzas. Nemuru is the Japanese word for sleep but you won't want to do that before you have eaten a delicious Oriental dinner, combining traditional recipes and innovative culinary techniques. As you'd expect a range of drinks are available with whatever you decide to eat and these can also be enjoyed throughout the day at numerous conveniently located bars.
There are a variety of room options, catering for different sized families, as well as suiting the needs of those who aren't travelling with children. At Bahia Principe Fantasia you can choose between twin and king sized beds, while you'll have a balcony (some have a sea view), air conditioning, mini-bar and satellite TV. You'll also have a sofa which can convert into an additional bed, allowing up to three adults to share a standard room. If you love being in the water then don't miss out on the option to upgrade to a suite with a swim-up pool.
You can't miss La Teide National Park - literally - the summit is over 3,750m above sea level. Here you can see Paisaje Lunar, which looks like a structure that belongs on the moon but it was in fact formed by volcanic activity. The mountain is one of the best places in the world for stargazing, so if you want to see the Leo constellation or possibly even another planet, there's few places better to observe the night sky from.

Insane management. Great place.
The negative first. They take an extremist face mask policy. like way over and above common sense. They will reply saying that they are looking after folks health, but its mad. I lost my mask in the wind at the pool. I needed to quickly use reception so pulled my t-shirt up over mouth and nose. This obviously does the same thing as a mask right? It makes no difference? Wrong. They refuse to serve you even quickly. Staff petrified I assume due to mental management policy that it MUST be a mask despite my mouth and nose being covered all the same. they dont have any masks to give you. I was refused service and sent to buy one from the hotel shop. expect constant inconvenience and an extremist, religious zealot policy like this that becomes very very irritating. It seems they will keep this well into the summer or more. The gym is barley open and you have to book. I wanted to use when out boy was napping. its shut between 12 noon and 4pm. its literally only open 6 or 7 hours out of the 24h in a day. I love to train on holiday and couldn't as the times didnt fit in with family plans. the pools say they're heated but its not heated enough. they're still too cold. our 2 year old wasn't able to stay in them long without chittering. you can't walk anywhere around the pool barefoot. the tiles are super smooth (easier to keep clean) but deadly slippy. if you have kids who like to run around they will fall. you see grown adults falling all the time merely walking bare foot. the mini disco is at the castle. its always very windy and uncomfortable for everyone. you also can't sit down with a drink and enjoy the kids dance. you have to stand about. the staff even wear masks outside and it made it confusing for my sone to know who was singing. he didnt know if it was the dj lady or the lady down the steps as they were both masked outside. there is one entertainer who had the sense to pull her mask down so the kids could see her expression and engage them thankfully some nights. the management are deranged. the theatre is good but you can't have a drink in it. you have to sit masked and you get a chap on the shoulder by the mask guards if you have it down for a minute. you want to enjoy a show with your drink...not here. expect this to go on way into summer The positive food is very good. reviews saying its not warm enough are right but this saves it overcooking. excellent choice and flavours. fruit is the only weak part. drinks are excellent. best cocktails ive had in any all inclusive. service of staff generally very good. they serve you like youre paying for each round. room was great. master suit had a door you pulled over to split the living room to the bedroom. separate toilets etc. really nice room general facilities are good with silly weaknesses that could make it awesome until the mask madness and other services at full capacity I wouldn't go back. otherwise id reccomend...but the management will make it out as if its for safety that you must specifically have a ear loop mask and the very same thing done with a t-shirt is no use (nobody thinks this who isn't mental) so I won't use them again until they see some sort of logical thinking and treat you properly
Amazing
This is hands down the best hotel I have ever been too. It was absolutely spotless, food was very good, rooms were big, spacious and couldn’t hear a thing (we had a junior suite). The only fault we had with the hotel was it was hard to get a hot, tasty cup of tea. On arrival the hotel receptionists we’re very helpful and our room was ready. The junior suite was very big, spacious with a massive ensuite. Balcony was big and faced away from the pool area (which we were thankfully for as I think those looking into the pool could be loud). The buffet food was a best all inclusive food I have had, some foods cooked fresh, plenty of selection. We also ate in the snack bar for lunch which had burgers/wraps/wedges and a selection of salad etc. The Asian restaurant was lovely, and would recommend the sushi. There are about 4 pools in total, 2 pools are kids with slides etc. 1 pool is an adult pool (which serves cocktails from 11am) and the other pool is a general pool near the buffet area, it’s huge! Cockatails/lattes/coffees are served in the bar next to the reception and on an evening they have singers on which were great. Overall the hotel was incredible and am planning on returning with my family again
Not for couples really, very family based hotel
We’ve just got back from our week away! The weather was hit and miss but we knew that before coming out :) To be totally honest personally I don’t think this hotel is for couples/ young adults even older couples. It’s a very family based hotel, kids screaming, crying etc. it’s not a problem of course but you want to relax on holiday it’s not really music to your ears(my personal opinion) POOLS - There is adults pool at the end of the hotel with a stunning view of the sea it’s absolutely amazing the views etc, it’s just the wind, unfortunately something you can’t do anything about! As soon as the wind hits you it does get cold (in March) but other then that there’s a bar there and you can get slush cocktails, beer, spirits anything you want really! (You have to wear your mask though) there is 2 kids pools one with little slides and another for toddler’s. (It’s very loud round there with kids and music etc) other then that the top pool was lovely not as windy and pools were (kinda) heated! Not warm atall. FOOD - The food was nice, not amazing but nice. The buffet is same anywhere, its got a lot of variety and it’s very big very noisy and if you got there at peak hours it’s was busy! But you would always find yourself something to eat! The “a la cartes” so we got to do all three which we were very lucky to do since we got told they were closing the steak restaurant for the week we wanted to book! Either way the Chinese was lovely lots to pick from and really good food! But the service just wasn’t there we waited 20 min for our drinks the waiter forgot my boyfriends beer, it was only an order of red wine and beer! But after asking again we will finally sorted it and ordered food! Like I said food was lovely! Bit too salty for my boyfriend but Chinese food is salty so I didn’t mind! The Steak restaurants was nice too! The waiters were rushing us since we could only get a 9:00 booking so we felt like you were in and out very quickly no time just to talk, again they forgot the beer so we waited and finally asked and received! The steak was amazing really good and lovely! But when I asked for some onion rings with my meal they “shut the kitchen” but funnily enough there was still alot of meals Coming out to serve and it was only 9:30. Other then that the dessert was okay abit dry and and stodgy! Dream factory was probably my favourite you just order yourself at the touch screen and collect when your room number is called, it was much easier then going buffet and it was fresh we waited maximum 5-10 minutes for food not too long! ROOM - The room was absolutely stunning one of my favourite rooms I’ve stayed in! It was very spacious. We stayed in the double standard room. It was lovely and I can’t even say a bad thing about the room. It was cleaned everyday and fresh sheets were put on the beds too! The fridge is filled every day for the water but the cans aren’t! We didn’t find this a problem but I know others did! But the room was lovely overall!! ENTERTAINMENT- They had shows on to watch but there in a room, with masks on, no drinks. No talking etc very different to any other entertainment I’ve ever had. Other then that there isn’t much entertainment atall, they have quiz’s, bingo and karaoke in the sports bar which last 15-35 minutes and didn’t start till 10 /10:30 so it was abit of wait. ANY OTHER- There is a lovely little place across the road called dabda which we really enjoyed and it’s amazing! So defo make sure you get booked in there. The staff and the grounds were very clean. Majority of Staff were lovely, others (especially reception) wasn’t but you don’t see them much so it isn’t an issue. The apps and booking are fine in my opinion it’s not hard to use and you just have to book the buffet like whenever you want to go, you don’t have to show up on the specific time so it’s easy. The drinks were lovely, cocktails made fresh and anything you could of wanted. They are very strict with masks aswell but you get used to it. I would personally rate this hotel 4*, 5* just doesn’t really cut it and if you are wanting to go especially through summer and you don’t have kids or are a young couple etc I would think of booking else where, unless you like screaming children haha! We had a good holiday, and we had lots of laughs! But I don’t think with what we payed for a week we would be back again.
