GF Gran Costa Adeje

GF Gran Costa Adeje is in the heart of one of Tenerife's most popular areas. The sandy, palm-lined beach of El Duque is a short walk away, while the restaurants and bars of the resort are steps away. If you're looking for something other than swimming, Costa Adeje has water parks, golf and shopping. There are two restaurants and four bars at the hotel. There's a buffet restaurant with outdoor seating and one a la carte restaurant. For views, you can go up to the rooftop terrace for a drink in the bar. There's also a pool bar which serves snacks. You can cool off with a swim in one of the two outdoor pools or the rooftop pool. There's a shallower pool for children too. During the day, you can have a game of squash or tennis. The hotel has equipment you can hire. You can also enjoy family-friendly activities such as mini golf and table tennis. The hotel has a gym and organises aqua aerobics sessions in one of the outdoor pools. You can book yourself a massage treatment, or just visit the spa for a few hours of relaxation. The biggest water park in Europe is a short drive from the hotel.

Playa El Duque is 500m away. The beach has Blue Flag status and is popular with families due to the shallow water. Along the sand there are plenty of ice cream stalls. For something more substantial you'll have a choice of restaurants and cafes on the beach promenade. The hotel is close to bars, restaurants and shopping centres. The marina is 1km from the hotel and has plenty of restaurants and bars. There's a golf course, 3.5km away.

The buffet restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The ‡ la carte restaurant serves dinner. Both restaurants have kids' options. During the day light meals, snacks, ice cream and afternoon tea are available at the hotel. You can also order room service while staying here.

The hotel puts on evening entertainment and there's a kids' disco to keep children amused. You can also play squash and tennis with hired equipment.

All rooms have either a balcony or a terrace and air conditioning. In the room there's a satellite TV, a safe and a minibar.

Mostly great but a few blips

Really nicely presented hotel, clean, spacious and as expected based on the reviews. Generally really good and would recommend, apart from a couple of things. I’m vegetarian and the veggie food selection was really limited and didn’t seem to change much each evening. Lots of the same and not up to the usual standards we’re used to in the UK. I appreciate this won’t be an issue for most people. Secondly, it would have been 4/5 if it wasn’t for a bad experience we had with a few members of staff. Rightly so, there is a zero tolerance to putting towels out in loungers by the pool first thing. One morning, we were by the pool and a member of staff asked us if the people on the row in front of us were there. My husband said they had just been there and we got a mouthful from him, as though we’d been the ones reserving beds. We also had a situation with two women on reception who were really rude. The change machine wasn’t working to give our son some euros for the arcade. Went to change at reception (which they’d been doing all week), they refused, saying the machine worked. My husband tried again and asked at the bar if it worked and was advised it didn’t. Back to reception and two ladies frog marched back over, shaking their heads. They got the machine to work and started gesticulating towards us. I told them a member of their staff had advised it wasn’t working, they then told him off and walked away tutting and shaking their heads. I was so incensed by this point, I stopped them and said I thought they had been unnecessarily rude. They then began to apologise. Later at dinner another couple came over and congratulated me for challenging them, saying they had experienced something similar. So, overall it’s good quality, most staff are lovely, food isn’t great for veggies and there seem to be a few bad eggs in the staff team. Beautifully clean and well organised, in a central location. Wouldn’t go back but did have a good week away.

GORGEOUS HOTEL , STAR STATUS IS IRRELEVANT

Mar 2022 | buddywirral

Just returned after a wonderful 10 day holiday at this gem of a hotel. Seems to be a lot of reviews commenting on the stars this hotel has , the most important thing to me is how you find it when you are staying there irrelevant of the stars , some say dated but the point is it is decorated in a traditional canarian style which is dark wood! Hotel was comfortable & so clean , the staff never stopped cleaning in our room & all public areas , our beds were made every single day & the towels changed everyday without asking. Every member of staff we came accross was so friendly & helpful , made me smile the review saying about Tina Charles , we were there at the same time & never heard it once!! Only slight complaint was we were on the top floor facing the pool with wonderful sea views but only when standing up , the wall on the balcony was solid concrete & about 4 foot tall so you could see nothing when sitting on the balcony , seems like the top floor rooms are all the same ! We stayed B & B and the breakfast was lovely , had a few lunches in the snack bar which were good quality as well. First time we've stayed in a hotel & they have actually stopped people reserving sunbeds , watched the staff remove towels that had been left on beds , pleased to see it , we watched a woman who got up at 7 30 in the dark every day & sat on the very same sunbed everyday when there is a choice of about 300 sunbeds, bit sad ! No problem getting a sunbed at any time of the day. Hotel is about a 15 min walk to Playa El Duque which is lovely & the same distance the other way to the livelier beach & bars , bus stop outside hotel running up & down the coast & the market on a Thursday & Saturday opposite the hotel . All in all highly reommend this lovely hotel.

Great hotel 5*

What a fantastic hotel. I have travelled a lot in my time and every now and again I find a gem. The rooms are extremely comfy we were in 302 there is a fridge and kettle but not many plugs bring an extension with extra sockets never leave home without ours. We stayed All Inclusive but were planning on eating out a bit. The food was so good we never had any meals outside. We only went out for different cocktails. They even bar people from hogging sun beds as they remove towels on empty reserved beds. Check in was a breeze minutes and we went to the bar while are cases were delivered to our room. Yes you only get a limited choice that are included but you also get extra ones at a discount. I can't think of anything too bad at all. There was a couple of times we had to wait for drinks but it's due to covid. I will definitely come back and won't hesitate to book it again
