Another Brilliant Stay
Third time stay at this hotel and I am sure we will revisit. For the price you pay the hotel is excellent. It may need a little refurbishment in places but the gardens, staff and food are very good. If you want a resort holiday then this may not be for you, but if you want to chill out in beautiful surroundings, walk on the cliff tops and eat good food, all at a reasonable price then this hotel is for you
Nice hotel but not ideal for buggies!
We have just got back from a 2 week stay here, we are a family with a 2.5 year old toddler and a 5 month baby. Here are my thoughts: + This hotel is really beautiful, with amazing sea views. It’s ideal for a total switch off and do nothing holiday. + everywhere is spotlessly clean, including rooms and public areas + the staff are amazing, so polite and efficient + the food is lovely, loads of choice, after 2 weeks it does get a bit samey but it would do anywhere + the on-site restaurants are a nice change ( we tried Italian, Mexican & Asian) + heated pool is great, especially for children + rooms are quiet and a good size, the room cleaning team are amazing + mini disco was great for the toddler + free bus to las americas is punctual and a life saver for those craving civilisation + drinks are great, especially the Rose cava! + eating outside with live music was really great + plenty of sun beds, yes people reserve them at 8am but it’s not an issue + the little park kept my toddler entertained + on-site shops & pharmacy are very good - location; if you are happy to not leave the complex then this is the hotel for you. There is nowhere close for a nice walk with a buggy, to get to the nearest prom (which is a nice walk) you have to walk around the ravine, which is uphill and takes about 30 mins before you get anywhere nice. Or cross the ravine, this can be done with 2 people to carry a buggy. It’s a ramp on one side and steps on the other so you only have to carry up / down stairs. If you’re fit enough, crossing the ravine saves loads of time and brings you our near a lovely sunset bar (worth going to) . If you’re happy to walk a bit further then Hardrock rooftop bar is worth going to (although it’s expensive €50 for 4 drinks, the service and views are worth it) - Accessibility. If you don’t have buggies or any access issues then you’ll be fine but if you do the strange lift system and lack of ramps becomes a little (extremely) annoying. You can’t walk from the bottom to the top of the hotel outside, which is a shame, you need to find various lifts to get you to each level. The staff don’t seem to stop and help you lift a buggy up stairs or anything. So because of them I’d say it’s not a suitable family hotel. - Booking restaurants: you need to decide where you want to eat at the start of the holiday and book it (or before you go on the app) or you won’t get booked in. The buffet starters are the best bit of the restaurants and better than the main courses. I tried to amend a booking to add one person and was told I couldn’t but when we got to the restaurant there was plenty of space and would have been fine. - Entertainment team are great but booking onto their daily activities has to be done in person rather than the app like everything else so if you want to do certain activities eg SUP yoga, make sure you book st 9am on the day. - Pay for scoop icecream by the pool. I understand having snacks / branded ice lollies for sale but the scoop icecreams could be included in the all inclusive. - Entertainment in the square is not advertised very well, we stayed for one show and it wasn’t great but can’t comment on the rest. - Difficult to get a seat in the lobby / outside after a certain time if you want to enjoy a later drink, but if you’re happy to sit in the cards playing section, you’ll be fine.
Lovely hotel away from crowded resorts
This hotel is spotless. Beautiful walkways and gardens. Fabulous food preferred buffet cannot think of anything that was missing breakfast can also be had in Italian retaurant which I preferred smaller but had same food. There is 4 speciality restaurants as well which have to be booked. 4 pools one heated infinity pool stunning but cold, snack bar at pool. Entertainment excercise classes etc during day at pool. Rooms very comfortable, clean, good hot shower, satellite tv, air conditioning, fridge bottled water supplied every day, hair dryer. Keys to rooms are in the wristband so you always have a key good idea. Bar has most drinks not cheap versions sangria, beer on tap, cocktails. This hotel is quite far away from main resorts so if you are looking for bars shops etc it is not for you but plenty to do in hotel very relaxing and sister hotel across the road can be used. Cons: Rooms are hard to find at first as 5 blocks and different lifts only go to certain blocks could do with map on arrival. Sun beds are booked sharp 8am mad scramble to get best ones. Jacuzzi not heated ? Overall would stay here again.
