I came to Royal Albatros and I love it. Many restaurants to choose from and animation is great thanks to Kiko, Bado and Oleh. The bar staff by the Olympic pool were so attentive and amazing! As well as housekeeping. Definitely a good time for a first visit to Sharm.

Great Value for Money Winter Sun Break

Mar 2022 | stevena1982

I stayed at the Royal Albatros Moderna with my wife and 2 daughters (8 and 5) for a week commencing 26th Feb. We had a great holiday and thought the break was excellent value for money. Hotel General Comments: The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Nabq bay. There is a small parade of shops in walking distance but not much within walking distance beyond that. The hotel complex is big and has 10 pools, with a big and a small water park which the kids loved. The hotel grounds are amazingly kept with all the paths lined with floral displays. The decor of the lobby and communal areas is very nice and the staff work visibly hard to maintain the quality. Room: We've been on a few family vacations always staying in family rooms in hotels rated at least a 4 star plus. This was by far the best family room we have had with 2 very large rooms and a large bathroom, all in very tasteful decor with marble floor tiring. The beds were very comfy. To cap it off we had a pool and sea view. Our room attendant worked hard to make sure our status was as good as it could be and left great towel models each day on the beds. Pools: The pools really made the holiday for us. The 2 pools nearest the beach were really well heated, which is a necessity at this time of year, particularly in the mornings as there was a bit of could cover and breeze which lifted on most days after lunch. The deeper of the 2 pools was 120cm and felt like a luke warm bath. The kids (small) aqua park is right next to this, it's about 40cm deep, very warm with some slides the kids loved. The depth of this pool meant we didn't have to watch the kids like hawks, which allowed us to switch off. The life guards were really attentive and the pool service was great and friendly. We also went to the big water park which gas 5 or 6 larger slides for bigger kids, this was also very good. Beach: The beach was sandy, but perhaps a little course. There is a jetty which is about 1km long which takes you to from the beach to the coral reef. Between the beach and the reef the water only gets waist deep. Because of this there are some good opportunities for younger kids to swim with some fish. Our 5 y/o loved this. At the end of the jetty there is an opportunity to dive or snorkel at the reef. The sea is deep here and quite wavy. Our 8 year old experienced her 1st taste of snorkeling here and loved it the fish were amazing, plentiful and colourful. Despite being a decent swimmer she wore a life jacket provided by the lifeguards at the end of the jetty. These guys were awesome and helped us getting out of the wavy sea!! Food and drink: The food in general was of a good standard, without being exceptional. Perhaps a little bit samey compared to other all inclusive resorts we gave visited, but something to eat most days. There are 5 restaurants but in truth were mostly variations of the same thing. There is also a snack restaurant near the beach which was good for lighter pool side lunches. Staff and service was very good throughout with all waiting staff being friendly and attentive. Entertainment: Was perhaps the most disappointing. Very much geared up towards Russian guests. The kids games were centred around single winners and talent shows, which ended in tears on more than one occasion. Our kids did enjoy the mini disco. There were a couple of good shows during our stay, but gave experienced much better entertainment at other resorts. Table service during the shows was however good. The kids club was also shut, and looks like it is having a major refurbishment, this want a problem for us, but a couple if years ago it would've been.
