So expensive! Time to go elsewhere.

Why are your prices so expensive. I love Blue Domes and came every yer as a platinum member but I'd rather not travel than spend £10,000 on a holiday with awful flights. Absolutely ridiculous. A family of 4 can travel to Florida and stay at the Disney 5star Animal Kingdom resort for £7000? Sorry but you've lost us. You're good but not that good!

An honest review

I’ve been lucky enough to have travelled a lot of the world and have realised that two people can be in the same place, at the same time and have completely different experiences so this is based on my own, personal experience of Blue Domes. We stayed for two weeks at the beginning of October 2021 in a private pool room. Positives The resort is huge. The views are stunning and it was beautiful to wake up to every day. The staff were amazing and really went out of their way. There were a couple of small issues, for example I am allergic to feather pillows and within a few hours they were replaced. Had a bottle of bubbly, some fruit and Greek sweets left in the room for my partners birthday, a lovely touch. The buffet food was really tasty. The food in all the al a Carte restaurants was delicious. The guy who refilled the fridge every day with all of my favourite drinks was fabulous. The pool bar guy who stopped by our pool room three+ times a day and made me the best fresh lemonade and my favourite drink of baileys and Malibu, you went out of your way to make us happy, thank you. We needed the room for a late check out and at 8pm the night before we popped to reception to be told we could stay in the same room meaning extra time for relaxation without having to move. Amazing customer service and hospitality all round. Points to consider - (points that I would personally be interested in via reviews) Not many people adhered to the dress code in the eateries which is a shame. Women wearing bikinis with a tiny cover up in the main buffet. It’s not difficult to throw on a top and a skirt/trousers. I don’t feel it’s particularly wheelchair or pushchair friendly as there are a lot of bridges with steps and we saw people struggling to carry pushchairs up and down. The cleaners, they did an excellent job but had a tendency to just walk right in. There were a couple of times I was changing and also one day my partner was Ill in bed and they just let themselves in. I appreciate they have a job to do and are working to tight schedules but I would have appreciated at least more than a few seconds notice. Toilet in shower -why?? The shower had zero power I don’t understand why everyone raves about the drinks here. We struggled to find a non alcoholic drink that had any taste other than soda water. All the fruit “juices” were soda water and the orange and lemon “Fanta” tasted the same. I feel there should have been some form of queuing system for the lunchtime eateries (burger, Greek, sushi restaurants etc) because we felt awkward waiting outside whilst people were eating and equally when we were eating and being stared at by people waiting. There is more than one entrance so it didn’t matter how long you had been waiting, others would just jump in. Would I go back? Probably. Maybe if I had come here before Mitsis Alila I would feel more enthusiastic about returning as I would return to Alila in a heartbeat and I have never returned to the same place twice.

Going to be hard to beat

Myself and partner visited blue domes on October 2021. I could go on forever about this place, there’s nothing I can fault from the rooms, food, drink, location, staff….; all absolutely spit on!! The sea is absolutely fantastic for snorkelling & was a beautiful temperature also. Was warmer than the pools. Food & drink was exceptional. We got to eat in all a la cartes as we pre booked before we arrived. To do so email for your booking confirmation or reference & you’ll get in. Maria at the beach bar is an absolute credit to the team, great bar maid, great laugh & keeps you warm with those tequilas Also definitely have a go on the flying donut at the water sports if you’re up for a laugh & getting throw about a bit great fun
