Sol Palmanova-Mirlos Tordos is a nine-storey hotel close to Majorca's southern coastline. The hotel is based in the purpose-built resort of Palma Nova, with its sandy beach within walking distance. The bars and lively nightlife of Magaluf are a short walk away. Palma Nova Beach holds Blue Flag status for its clear, clean waters and safe environment. During your stay at Sol Palmanova-Mirlos Tordos, days can be spent relaxing around the pool area, while younger guests splash about in the kids' pool. There's a pool bar where you can enjoy drinks throughout the day, or an ice cream to cool down. If you'd like to stay active during your holiday, you can take a fitness class on the hotel grounds. Children can have fun and make new friends at the hotel-run kids' club. In the evening you can enjoy dinner in the buffet restaurant, followed by entertainment organised by the hotel. There are live shows and karaoke for all the family, and a mini disco for younger guests. For older children, there's a games room, and Wi-Fi throughout the hotel to keep them connected. If you're heading out for the evening, you can explore the shops, restaurants and bars in Palma Nova's town centre.

Set on a protruding bay, you'll have three beaches to choose from on this stretch of the Palma Nova coastline, the closest being 120m away. All three are Blue Flag certified and feature a sandy beachfront and clear waters for paddling. Son Maties is the most popular, and offers a selection of seafront bars. If you'd like to see some more of the island, you can head to its capital, Palma, which is a short drive from the hotel. Its Gothic seafront cathedral and hill-top castle are the main attractions, and if you wander around its cobbled streets you can discover souvenir shops and traditional tapas restaurants.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be enjoyed in the hotel's buffet restaurant, where international and local cuisine is offered. Between meals, you can get snacks and drinks from the hotel's pool or lobby bar. You'll also have a mini fridge in your room for snacks and cold drinks.

The hotel has a number of activities on offer to help you keep fit during your holiday, including aerobics, aquaerobics and spinning classes.

The rooms at Sol Palmanova have a bright and airy interior with a neutral colour palette. They each have their own balcony or terrace.

Stay well away!!

Oct 2021 | alison783

After mixed reviews we went open minded First the good points great location and polma nova is lovely Now the horondous truth about this hotel check in staff/reception are down right rude! We got to our room to find air conditioning sensor broke on floor and the toilet seat broke and on floor (poor housekeeping) The beds in the rooms horrendous must have been from the 80s The offerings in dining room can at best be described as inedible cold slop ! We all got food poisoning. Now the entertainment if you could call it that it is embarrassing that these people were allowed on stage ! My advice is to stay well away unless you want to be sleep deprived, lose weight ,and to be spoken to like a child!!!

Lovely week away

Just come back from a week away as a couple. We were sceptical after reading the reviews and therefore expected to have to dine out. I wish I never took notice of the negative comments! The food was lovely! We ate at the hotel the majority of the time as we enjoyed it so much! The variety was impressive. Fresh salad, pizza, pasta, meats! We couldn’t fault it! The rooms were on the small side but all we cared about was having a nice balcony with a view and wow what a view we had! We spent most nights drinking on the balcony with a nice glass of sangria, overlooking the pool and the sea. Cleaners worked very hard and Our rooms were cleaned every day. Staff were amazing and very friendly! We arrived at 11am and they let us go to our room straight away which was a bonus! Bar staff were great to! Entertainment team were loads of fun! Had everyone joining in around the pool and having a laugh! Location is spot on! 2 minute walk from the bars, restaurants and beach.

Lovely hotel, poor food

Before going away I was a bit skeptical of coming due to the reviews, and wanted to post my own to let others know! This was advertised as a 4 star hotel and it definitely isn’t, but it is pleasant. I’ll start with the positives! The rooms we couldn’t fault. Arrived about 12pm and got straight into our room, which was gorgeous, spacious and had a lovely balcony with a sea and pool view. It also had a TV with some english channels, the bathroom was lovely and clean. I really couldn’t fault them. The area was absolutely great, 2 mins from the beach and shops and was perfect. Lots of bars and gorgeous restaurants on the beach too. The pools were nice, and there was plenty of sun beds to go around for the time of year we went (September), matched with the weather it was great to have somewhere nice to relax in the sun! They also had a small sun deck which no one ever seemed to use but we fell in love with. The entertainment staff were brilliant and so polite. Always had a laugh and smiled and said hello when they saw us. The evening entertainment was okay. It was impressive and there was a lot of talent but it was over in half an hour (9:30-10pm) with very little crowd interaction which sometimes made it less entertaining. One weird experience was they opened the bar outside in the evenings but mostly shut the bar about 10:30. This meant everyone wanting a drink in the complex HAD to all go to the one bar inside, with one bar tender at. Queues were ridiculous sometimes, 20 min wait for a drink wasn’t ideal. This leads to a few of the negatives .. the food. It sometimes was okay, but was very questionable. The first lunch experience was basically inedible, and was like bad school dinners. Sometimes they were okay, there was always a ‘freshly cooked’ meat and fish option, but a lot of the time it was stone cold. The kids options were burgers hot dogs and nuggets, the nuggets were grey and the burgers were cooked at breakfast and literally left out until 11pm. The salad was the same salad at dinner than lunch and most of the time you could tell the dinner was left over lunch as it looked awful and was the exact same options. Also, nothing was labelled. You’d struggle if you had allergies or was vegan or vegetarian as you’d have absolutely no idea what’s what. Another thing was the snack bar was shut. We weren’t actually told when turning up so had to work out that the ‘snack bar’ was now inside the dining bit, but the only things available were the left out hot dogs burgers and nuggets which were vile and weren’t even warm. This was a big let down and didn’t make it feel very ‘all inclusive’. When checking in the receptionist was lovely but absolutely nothing was explained. I thought we’d get told meal times, maybe been given some information on the drinks included or a sheet explaining things like the pools, food drinks anything included, but nope. There’s also an option for gold all inclusive, which again wasn’t even offered to us just shown through a TV. It was €10 a day per person, but it wasn’t actually explained what was included or how much premier drinks or snacks are if you didn’t upgrade. You got no bar snacks if you didn’t do this gold option. The drinks were fine on normal all inclusive, but the bar staff acted like they couldn’t stand us. Asking for a drink felt like we were doing something wrong, never a smile or anything. We’d say thanks and they’d just stare blankly. But then we noticed they chatted away lovely to Spanish guests, so i’m not sure if it was a language barrier but it did feel like we were a nuisance which is such a shame on holiday. All in all, we did enjoy our week away but we do feel as if we paid a lot for what we got. The hotel itself is lovely but the bar staff and food sadly made us feel like we’d paid a lot. It was lovely and quiet when we went but i dread to think how long you’d need to queue for a drink if it was full capacity!
