Adriana Beach Club Hotel Resort is a family-friendly hotel in Praia da Falesia, on the Algarve. The region is best known for its whitewashed fishing villages on low cliffs and sandy coves. Falesia Beach is steps from the resort, where you'll find long stretches of shore and a scenic coastline. Palm trees and landscaped gardens give this property a classic southern European look.



There are four outdoor pools, one heated indoor pool, as well as plenty of places for you to relax in the sun or the shade. You can take part in sports activities at the resort including football, tennis, beach volleyball and mini golf. The hotel runs regular aerobics and aqua aerobics classes. For some downtime, you can play table tennis, boules or darts. You will also have access to the on-site spa, offering a variety of beauty treatments and massages, plus a Turkish bath and sauna. Children can enjoy the hotel-run dance classes and quizzes during the day.

When it comes to eating you have a choice of three restaurants. Al-Gharb allows you to dine overlooking the garden as well as the pool and has a special menu for little guests. O Celeiro offers international cuisine at dinner time, while as the name might suggest Grill specialises in barbecued food. If it’s just a drink or snack you’re after there are two poolside bars.

The hotel has a variety of room types to suit individuals, friends, couples and families. If you want that extra bit of space why not upgrade to a large room? All options have air conditioning as well as a TV with satellite channels and mini-fridge.

The nearest centre is a short drive from the hotel where you can explore local bars, restaurants and nightlife. Authentic dishes to taste include caldo verde soup, traditional stews and spicy sausages. For a sweet treat, you can go to one of the local bakeries for a famous Pastel de Nata. The town also has a bustling nightlife scene with frequent live music played in bars and clubs.

Check in/ Check out We arrived slightly early and were told our room would be ready in 2 hours. We were more than happy to wait as we knew we couldn’t check in until 3pm. We decided to explore the hotel and have lunch. In 2.5 hours we went back and were told our room was not ready (this was gone 3pm at this point) and we waited. After 4 hours we finally got our room. This was quite disappointing. We were very understanding however we found a couple ps the staff blunt (particularly Rodrigo I think his name was) as we went for an update twice on our room and felt like we were being pushed aside. Room We stayed in block A (across the road) but this didn’t bother us at all. At first we were worried about this as we read reviews before we came. The walk wasn’t bad and there is a short cut which we used. We enjoyed the walk as it meant we walk off our buffet lunch and dinner. The view from our room was lovely too and the balcony is huge. The rooms were very modern and this made up for the walk to the pool/restaurants. Remember to bring adapters which let you have more than one usb. We only had one plug in the bedroom (another in the bathroom!). Bars/restaurants We visit during Covid and were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and others adhering to wearing masks. We are at the main restaurant for breakfast and dinner and went for lunch by the smaller pool. There was plenty of choices for us both. My boyfriend is quite fussy and he was able to find something everyday. We really liked the bar by the smaller pool. The staff there was so lovely and we never had to wait for a drink. The choices were amazing too. Entertainment We didn’t participate in much during the day but we played bingo and watched the shows during the evening after dinner. The shows were good (my boyfriend particularly liked the reptile show). Pool We mainly stayed at the quieter pool and didn’t have to fight for a sunbed. We did carefully choose our sunbeds to make sure we were in the sun as much as possible. (My boyfriend isn’t bothered about being in the sun so used the umbrella). This pool was also close to the bar and the restaurant. We enjoyed staying at this pool as there was some music being played lightly as background sound. Although the playlist was on repeat, this was a nice touch. Beach The beach was lovely and we enjoyed laying in the sun in the mornings. There are some sun beds but these were taken when we arrived in the morning. We were able to take a parasol provided by the lifeguards and used this on the sand. The beach was amazing and so clean. Location We went out twice during our week visit. We went to Vilamoura and Albufiera. We enjoyed both and the hotel is in an ideal location for both. I recommend an Uber as it is so much cheaper than taxis. The hotel recommended a taxi and we ended up paying nearly €20 more. We did the Dolphin boat trip and booked this through the hotel, this was amazing and we definitely recommend. It was approx €30pp and we paid extra for the transfers to be included which worked out to be cheaper than paying separately. Other We were celebrating our anniversary and wee gifted a bottle of wine to our room to celebrate. We found this a special touch and we are very grateful. The rooms were made up lovely and the cleaners did a lovely job. Being across the road, we did notice it was very late in the day by the time our room was being cleaned but this didn’t matter too much as we stayed by the pool til late. Covid We flew on the 8th October and this was when Portugal required a negative rapid antigen result to enter the county. We did this 48 hours before we flew and printed the paperwork for the airport. I created a folder which I recommend as there are lots of documents which need to be showed. This was a lot quicker than having it on our phones. In Portugal, we didn’t have to show our vaccination status but we did have to wear masks when walking around the hotel. We were required to book a day 2 test for when we arrived back into the UK and we didn’t twirls a test to get back into the UK. We only needed to complete a passenger locator form.

Judging by the room I was offered, this is more like a two star hotel. It was very very basic and had a weird smell. I went back to the reception and told them I was leaving. To be fair, they said I could change room but then decided they didn’t have another room. They also refused to refund my money.

Never visited Portugal before so decided to give it a go. The country is absolutely stunning. This resort was clean, the food was great and the entertainment team were the best I've ever experienced in an all inclusive hotel. They are very clearly incredibly passionate about what they do and do their utmost to ensure you are having a good time. The food was varied and plenty of it, snacks were incredible. You never went hungry. The hotel made a great effort for Halloween and the evening entertainment was great. The beaches were incredible (especially in Albufeira) and the free coach trips to Albufeira and Vilamoura ensured you were able to explore Portugal more than just the hotel. If you're looking for a family friendly all inclusive hotel, good food and great entertainment, this is the place for you.
