A fantastic 1st family holiday!

All in all this was a lovely 1st holiday for us with our 11 month old baby. Reception staff great, very accommodating. They quickly arranged for a kettle, crib and priority check in. A downside which was on TUI's side not the hotel was that check in isn't until 4pm yet we were dropped off around lunch time. TUI should arrange early check in for these cases in mu opinion. We later asked for an iron and they made the 2 x single beds into a double bed. No one managed to fall down the middle either lol. Restaurant mecado Arrival staff great, waiters even better. All were friendly and easy going. Food had a good choice, not much junk food and.whats there is good quality - not massive quantity... lots of fish for fish lovers. The meat really good quality. There's a hut that does burgers and hot dogs daily and is facing a snack bar which does a range of sandwiches, salads and cakes and also has a bar there. Beer is really good, definitely up there with the best I've had from all inclusive. Superbok! Lots of cocktails to choose from Espresso martini was spot on. Shows Animation team extremely talented. Performed acrobatics in a pantomime style that you'd expect from professionals. Very impressed ! The magic show was awesome!! Animation team are also active throughout the day dancing, playing water polo, football and basketball and bing (which we won one day whoop whoop) and they do encourage the crowds to get involved. TV No one goes on holiday to watch TV.. BUT when you've got a little one and she needs an afternoon nap before dinner or is tired out and you're home before 9pm then TV is your best friend to unwind and the rooms have a cool LED Wide-screen Phillips TV with plenty of English channels (only BBC entertainment English but loads of decent American ones FOX, FOX Movies, Hollywood HD, AMC and more) Luigi Lovely red sparkling wine on arrival, ended up bringing us a bottle out. Very professional layout, lots of high quality cold cuts, cheeses, bread, breadsticks, sauces and salad (a lot more specialised than the main buffet) Pools clean, freezing (cant blame.hotel for that, thats weathers fault), plenty of beds and close to a bar. Have people coming round taking empties away but no one taking drink orders, I found this a downside and is one of the reasons I couldn't give it a 5 star. The bar also got a bit busy from time to time, not a long wait though but who can be assed waiting on holiday (especially when you're branching out 5 star). There's also 3 pools one at the top for adults only then a couple right next to each other further down for families. The spa is clean and offers a particular time each day to take children in. The massages are really relaxing too. Check out was fast and efficient. I've definitely recommend this for any family vacation.

Pestana Blue Alvor was amazing

It was great for kids as the kids club had so much to offer and so many things to do. There was a variety of things for everyone to do and was really close to the beach. There was a pool for everyone as their was an adults only pool for when the kids were at kids club and a child friendly pool for when all the family was together. The kids pool had a few waterslides but nothing much and wasn't really that deep. The other three pools were amazing as well as they had shallow areas and steps for smaller, less confident kids to play around at. Sometimes they did do dances and competitions by the pool which were sometimes distracting for people to relax. Games were played in the pool like water polo or there was yoga that was available for older children and adults. The food was amazing but if anyone was vegetarian the food is pretty limited. One time the only thing available was chips. Overall it was a really nice stay and an amazing hotel with really nice people and great views.

Golf holiday

Fantastic hotel with staff and food to match. Arrived just before 10pm and taken straight to restaurant for food while our bags were taken to rooms. Best food I’ve had with all inclusive. Will be back
