Grand Palladium White Island Resort & Spa

Grand Palladium White Island is a 5-star hotel on Playa d'en Bossa, a long stretch of sandy coastline on the southern edge of Ibiza. It is within walking distance of some of the best nightclubs on the island and a short drive or bus ride from Ibiza old town. Being part of a larger all-inclusive resort, that also features the Grand Palladium Palace Ibiza next door, guests can use the facilities at both properties.

The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool in the middle of the grounds, which is surrounded by a sun terrace. There are two further pool areas at Grand Palladium Palace, including a children's pool with water slides.

The Spa has a fitness zone with a fully-equipped gym and a wellness zone with beauty treatments. Plus there’s a thermal zone where you can make your way around the complete circuit. Take a dip in the indoor dynamic pool with its bubble beds and hydromassage, before test driving the water jets, cold pool, jacuzzi and Finnish sauna. Complete your relaxation session under the sensations showers or with a Turkish massage, before lying back on the loungers set amongst enviable surroundings. This is definitely the place to revitalise your body and soul!

The youngest guests can join the Baby Club, while older kids will be treated like little princesses and princes in the Mini Club, which runs workshops, games, crafts and children’s shows. While teenagers won’t be bored at the Junior Club, where a variety of sports and games are on offer, as well as DJ classes, alternatively they may choose to watch a film in the cinema.

When it comes to eating, you’ll be spoiled for choice thanks to a selection of six restaurants. Sa Prunera offers a Mediterranean experience where you can create your own gourmet sampling plate of delicacies and enjoy a fabulous show-cooking experience provided by expert chefs. Dine at La Sal for spectacular views of the Ses Salines Nature Reserve Sa Figuera allows you to eat outside of conventional meal times. Want to devour seafood while overlooking the Mediterranean? Then Portofino is the eatery for you. La Doña offers a Mexican a la carte menu, while Il Palazzo has a choice of Italian options.

Standard rooms are a generous 27m2 with an additional 4m2 balcony or terrace and decorated in an avant-garde style. They each have a 42” TV with satellite channels and as you’d expect with a luxury resort, there’s wifi and air-conditioning.

The hotel lies at the southern end of Playa d'en Bossa beach, which runs up the coast for almost 4km towards the main resort of Ibiza Town, a bustling area that's popular with tourists. The beach is lined all the way along with hotels and restaurants. If the heat gets too much for you then Marçà Caves, on the northern side of the island, are just a 30-minute drive away. Formed 100,000 years ago, they make even the oldest buildings in Spain seem very young in comparison!

This hotel was beautiful and spotlessly clean. However all inclusive plus does not include premium drinks! We had to upgrade to premium for €20 a day and they ran out of most beers, we were reimbursed for the unused days. Some of the bar staff were quite rude too. More entertainment would have been good in the hotel too. I enjoyed my holiday, but wouldn’t go back here.

Big disappointment, not what it used to be

We have stayed at this hotel previously a couple of years ago, and booked it knowing that this used to be 5 star hotel in our previous visit, but this visit unfortunately proved the hotel needs to be downgraded to a 4 star hotel. The staff has mostly been rude and uncaring - you would have expected in particular of 2 years of travel disruption to see a welcoming environment , in particular that Spain and Ibiza are relying economically on tourism industry. We arrived at the hotel with water leaking from the ceiling in main lobby, buckets and towels everywhere on the floor- it was embarrassing. Upon checking in to our room , we noticed they have put towels next to the balcony doors as water leaking in - you wouldn't expect that in a real 5 star hotel. We were shocked that this is the case. The towels have stayed there for several days and the whole room had a smell of damp. The Wifi didn't work at all in our room as there is no coverage - the people at reception claimed they will call the wifi company to fix it, but nothing was done for the whole we were staying there. This is unacceptable as we paid for a 5-star hotel and our kids in particular expected to be able to use the tablets in the room. This is clearly a problem the hotel knew about but wasn't bothered to solve. The food has also been disappointment and not as good as last time. Less choice, and not fresh. My wife found bread with mold, which they served. They used same main courses for both lunch and dinner, which means there was not a real variety as you would expect in 5 star hotel, and the food wasn't fresh - serving for example remaining from lunch (we knew because we had it in lunch), isn't a good look. Also the way how they cook beef means it's completely raw inside - on the only evening they finally served beef entrecote, my wife took and asked the chef to make sure her portion is cooked 'well done', upon trying to eat it, it was still raw inside, and when she went to replace it, she was told they ran out of beef (this was 30 minutes after dinner started, which is ridiculous). We were very disappointed overall and feel the hotel is not a good value for money anymore. When you pay £3000 for a holiday in a 5 star hotel, you would agree that you would expect more than the above.

Review of the white island resort

Nov 2021 | katie10102021

Overall, the stay at the white island resort was amazing! The hotel it’s self was beautiful, the rooms were lovely and cleaned daily. The beach was a 2 min walk away which was brilliant! Service was amazing, nothing was ever too much trouble for them, they were friendly and they wanted to help.
